Addicted

Okay, I have a confession to make. I'm addicted to finding and reading recipes. Seriously. I just spent the past two hours looking up recipes. Luckily, I found this AMAZING gem of a website: tastespotting.com. It compiles recipes from thousands of blogs. Go check it out.

It has taken over my life. Don't get confused, I'm not complaining.

So here's what I'm thinking
1. quit school
2. go to culinary school. you think I'm joking, but I'm not.
3a. be rich
3b. so I can buy all the ingredients to create these incredible dishes
4a. obtain a time turner
4b. which supplies an endless amount of time to sit in my kitchen (which would be huge since I am rich) and create these recipes I find.
5. create a recipe blog.

Ya I think I'm only going to do #5. Do I have your support?

Point: I love cooking/baking/creating something new. I love feeding people. I love eating. I am addicted to reading and finding recipes.

ps. I was just slapped in the face by my nutrition test. Is this a sign? No.

Olympic Thought

I am not Asian. Therefore, I will never be a great figure skater.

Wow. I love the Olympics.

Snow

Today I was in awe, no I was enthralled, watching the snow splatter all over the pavement.

What a beautiful creation.

A friendly reminder...

You can't take your G.P.A to heaven.

I have been saying this a lot lately. Hmmm. Good thing it's true.

To whom it may concern...

Dear man who sits on my row,

Hello, my name is Katrina. You probably didn't know that. We sit on the same row in Family Finance every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10-10:50. Usually I sit with my friend Jarelle and my muscular, protective cousin Ben. Today he wasn't there. And I noticed something. You stare. A lot...

It really creeps me out actually. I'm just wondering if you know that I can see you? Do you know I couldn't keep track of how many times you looked over at my cute friend and I? It makes me feel uncomfortable. At first I tried to ignore it. But I think every person in our class watched you as you stared at us. Is this socially acceptable? Should I be flattered?

A lot of times girls call other men "creepers" or "stalkers" if they continually pursue them and they aren't mutually interested. Then, if another attractive man who the girl actually likes, does the same things, they're just "cute".

??

No. I decided something. Even if you were my boyfriend (ps I have one and he could beat you up) I would still be uncomfortable. Sorry for my bluntness. I think you're probably a really awesome guy. We could even be in a study group together. We could have been class friends. Sigh. Hopefully now, since someone told you how they feel you'll understand why I'm not returning the stares.

...I'm glad my protective cousin will be in class tomorrow. Good luck on your test next week! :)

Sincerely,
A girl

Love as an Action

“I love you, mother,” said little John;
Then, forgetting his work, his cap went on,
And he was off to the garden swing,
Leaving his mother the wood to bring.

“I love you, mother,” said rosy Nell;
“I love you better than tongue can tell;”
Then she teased and pouted full half the day,
Till her mother rejoiced when she went to play.

“I love you, mother,” said little Fan;
“To-day I’ll help you all I can;
How glad I am that school doesn’t keep!”
So she rocked the babe till it fell asleep.

Then, stepping softly, she fetched the broom,
And swept the floor, and dusted the room;
Busy and happy all day was she,
Helpful and happy as child could be.

“I love you, mother,” again they said—
Three little children going to bed;
How do you think that mother guessed
Which of them really loved her best?"
-Joy Allison

"Love has at least three different meanings: (1) It is a feeling in your heart. (2) It is a word you can say. (3) It is an action. The best way to show the love you feel in your heart is to tell others you love them and do something nice for them too." Thomas S. Monson

Show someone you love them today. SHOW them for the rest of your life. Your thoughts and feelings should become your actions.

Do my actions reflect how I truly feel? Do yours?

Isn't that lovely?
